The successful candidate will oversee the management, litigation, and strategic development of a caseload relating to mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance and Plevin-based unfair relationship claims. This role involves supervising a team, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving efficient case progression from intake through settlement or judgment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and progress a caseload of PPI/Plevin (PIVAT) claims within the relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.

  • Conduct detailed file reviews, provide legal advice, and determine litigation strategy on complex or disputed matters.

  • Draft, review, and approve pleadings, witness statements, settlement agreements, and correspondence with lenders and defendants.

  • Oversee pre-action protocols, negotiations, mediation, and, where necessary, representation at hearings.

  • Supervise and support fee-earners, paralegals, and administrative staff within the PPI/PIVAT team.

  • Monitor developments in consumer credit law, FCA guidance, and case law relevant to Plevin-based unfair relationship claims.

  • Ensure all case handling meets SRA standards, GDPR requirements, and internal compliance frameworks.

  • Work closely with senior management to optimise processes, reporting, KPIs, and workflow efficiency.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them informed throughout the claim lifecycle while maintaining excellent professional standards.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a current practising certificate.

  • Demonstrable experience in financial mis-selling, consumer credit litigation, or civil litigation.

  • Strong understanding of PPI claims, Plevin unfair relationship principles, and the PIVAT process.

  • Ability to manage high-volume caseloads while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Experience supervising junior staff or leading a team (desirable).

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.

  • Opportunities for progression into management or wider financial-litigation roles.

  • Supportive team environment with ongoing professional development opportunities.
