Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Atlas On Premise and Next Generation Infrastructure team. The role spans the UK, Ireland, and the US, delivering private cloud solutions with a consistent end-user experience across on-premise and public cloud environments.

You will drive software delivery from design to troubleshooting, produce secure production code, and push enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality and delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with evaluation and refinement of outputs.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, data sensitivity, secure handling, and resiliency.
  • Proficiency in Java, GoLang, or equivalent modern languages.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large, complex environment.
  • Solid understanding of Agile, CI/CD, resiliency, and security.
  • Experience with cloud, AI/ML, mobile; DevOps and SRE principles.
  • Familiarity with VMware, OpenShift, Hyper-V, and bare metal platforms.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement; thrives in a small, high-paced global team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute software solutions across design, development, and troubleshooting to build innovative solutions.
  • Create secure, high-quality production code supporting private cloud infrastructure.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications across the SDLC.
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
  • Apply SDLC tools, including AI-assisted development and automation to increase value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the UK, Ireland, and the US to deliver scalable private cloud services.
  • Contribute to communities of practice and events exploring new technologies.

Job description

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment, with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
  • Proficiency in coding in Java, GoLang, or equivalent modern programming languages
  • Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large, complex environment
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies, including continuous integration and continuous delivery, application resiliency, and security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile
  • Experience with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering principles
  • Familiarity with VMware, OpenShift, Hyper-V, and bare metal platforms
  • Experience with public cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the UK, Ireland, and the US to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure private cloud services
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
