Job summary

Aspion, on behalf of a well-established precision engineering business in Dudley, is seeking an experienced Lead Sliding Head CNC Setter/Operator to join the manufacturing team.

You will set and operate Star and Citizen sliding head CNC lathes, load programs and tooling, read engineering drawings and GD&T requirements, perform first-off checks and in-process inspections, and make offsets to maintain tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating Star and/or Citizen Sliding Head CNC lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment and quality inspections.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate Star and Citizen Sliding Head CNC lathes.
• Load programs, tooling and materials for efficient production.
• Carry out first-off inspections and in-process checks; record data.
• Make offsets and minor program adjustments to maintain tolerances.
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot to minimise downtime.
