Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, degree or equivalent) with track record in railway signalling design.
  • IRSE Signalling Principles Designer and Verifier Licence.
  • High level of proficiency in signalling scheme design, LAP, specifications, SSI wiring, fringe designs etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manage signalling design plans, estimates and drawings.
  • Ensure designs are constructible and safe, in line with customer requirements and industry specs.
  • Oversee project timescales and budget adherence.
  • Check and review designs produced.
  • Provide guidance and support to the design team.

Job description

Exciting opportunity for a Lead Signalling Design Engineer (outside IR35) to join a major name in the rail industry. The purpose of the role is to manage design activities to ensure the safe, timely and successful implementation of signalling schemes.

Duties
  • Management of signalling design plans, estimates and drawings
  • Ensuring designs can be constructed and installed safely, in line with customer requirements and industry specifications
  • Making sure project timescales and budgets are adhered to
  • Check and review designs produced
  • Provide guidance and support to the design team
Qualifications and Experience
  • Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, degree or equivalent), along with track record in railway signalling design
  • IRSE Signalling Principles Designer and Verifier Licence
  • High level of proficiency in signalling scheme design, LAP, specifications, SSI wiring, fringe designs etc
