Job summary

Claxton Engineering Services Group in Aberdeen seeks a Senior Engineer (Mechanical / Electro-Mechanical / Mechatronics) to lead design and delivery of subsea tooling and mechanical systems from concept to offshore execution.

The role blends technical execution with design assurance, mentoring junior engineers, and collaboration across offshore and workshop teams in Aberdeen, Westhill, and international locations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics and relevant subsea/offshore experience.
• Experience with electro-hydraulic systems and sensor integration.
• Strong CAD/analysis skills with SolidWorks, Ansys, and Mathcad.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of mechanical systems and subsea tooling from concept to detailed design.
• Define load paths, perform hand calculations and FEA to verify integrity.
• Support offshore operations, FAT/SIT, and commissioning.
• Collaborate across disciplines and mentor junior engineers.
