Job summary

David Kennedy Recruitment is partnering with a rapidly growing tech company with 50M+ users to hire a Security Engineer for the R&D team. You will own security operations across AppSec, GRC, and AI security, including vulnerability management and audits, in a fully remote setup.

Based in Europe with CET overlap, you will work with engineering leadership, review code, coordinate pen tests, and respond to threats while handling NSFW content as part of daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years hands-on security engineering experience.
• Strong application security experience including code reviews and remediation.
• Experience conducting or coordinating security audits and pen tests.
• Comfortable coding and working with Git/GitHub.
• Scripting or automation skills (Python or Bash).
• Experience in an AI company or scale-up (50+ employees).
• Understanding of security governance, risk assessment and prioritisation.
• Ability to own security issues end-to-end in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent English communication.
• Based in Europe with ~80% CET overlap.
• Occasional evening/weekend security monitoring.
• Comfortable working with adult/NSFW content.

Responsibilities

• Application security: review code, fix vulnerabilities, coordinate pen tests and audits.
• Governance, risk and compliance: maintain risk register, assess exposure, prioritise fixes.
• Monitoring and awareness: watch alerts, run awareness programs and phishing simulations, occasional cover.
• IT security and access: onboarding/offboarding, device security, access controls.
• AI security: track risks to generative AI platforms and provider vulnerabilities.
