Bupa is seeking a Lead Security Architect - AI & Data in London, Staines, or Salford Quays. This permanent hybrid role shapes AI security strategy and governance for a global health organisation, balancing innovation with risk control.

You will lead threat modelling, set security requirements for AI platforms, and collaborate with senior leaders to embed security across AI initiatives while protecting sensitive data.

Qualificações

• Extensive experience in security architecture and enterprise security leadership.
• Strong background securing AI, ML and cloud services.
• Proficiency with Azure, Azure OpenAI, and cloud security principles.
• Experience leading threat modelling, architecture reviews and control design.
• Knowledge of NIST CSF, NIST AI RMF, ISO 27001, ISO 42001 and OWASP AI guidance.
• Experience in highly regulated environments such as healthcare or finance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills.
• Knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection requirements.
• Bonus: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, TOGAF or Microsoft AI security certs.
• Experience with generative AI, RAG or AI agents.

Key Responsibilities

• Define secure AI adoption patterns and security standards across Bupa.
• Lead threat modelling and security reviews for AI-enabled solutions, including large language models (LLMs), generative AI tools and autonomous agents.
• Develop governance frameworks, security controls and assurance processes that support safe AI adoption.
• Set security requirements for AI platforms, APIs, integrations and cloud-based AI services.
• Identify and help manage risks associated with unauthorised or unsanctioned AI usage.
• Provide expert guidance on AI security, architecture decisions and emerging threats.
• Partner with technology, data, legal, clinical and risk teams to embed security into AI initiatives.
• Present security recommendations and risk assessments to senior stakeholders and executive audiences.
• Assess AI suppliers and third-party solutions from a security and data protection perspective.
• Contribute to security standards, reference architectures and continuous improvement activities across the wider technology function.
• Support awareness, education and a strong security culture around responsible AI use.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced security professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

• Significant experience in security architecture, cyber security consulting or enterprise security leadership roles.
• Strong experience securing AI, machine learning and cloud-based services.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry and cloud security principles.
• Experience leading threat modelling, security architecture reviews and control design activities.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks including NIST CSF, NIST AI RMF, ISO 27001, ISO 42001 and OWASP AI security guidance.
• Experience working within highly regulated environments such as healthcare, financial services or government.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging way.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and supporting strategic decision making.
• Knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection requirements.

It's a bonus if you also have:

• CISSP, CISM, CCSP, SABSA or TOGAF certifications.
• Microsoft AI or AI security certifications.
• Experience securing generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions or AI agents.
