Job summary

Infleqtion UK is seeking a Lead Scientist to accelerate product development for quantum RF systems in the UK. You will lead scientific strategy, own physics architecture, and guide experimental design and data interpretation while mentoring a portfolio science team.

The role requires a PhD in AMO physics with several years of leadership experience, and collaboration with engineering and product teams to translate scientific requirements into robust systems, with up to 10% travel involved.

Qualifications

• PhD in atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics is required.
• Several years of leadership experience in a technical project team.
• Strong background in Rydberg physics and interactions; RF electrometry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the scientific and experimental strategy for the portfolio.
• Own the physics architecture, key scientific assumptions, and performance models.
• Guide experimental design, data analysis, and performance validation.
• Identify and manage scientific risks with mitigation strategies in the risk register.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, review experiments and conclusions.
• Lead, mentor, and line-manage the portfolio science team.
