Job summary

Nishkam School West London’s in-house caterer Sodexo is seeking an experienced cook to support the Cook Manager in running the school kitchen for Nishkam School West London, Isleworth. You will prepare, cook, present and serve meals to high standards for students and staff while maintaining excellent kitchen hygiene and safety.

You will also supervise catering staff, train team members, manage stock and food orders, and help reduce food waste on a busy site.

Qualifications

• Catering qualification (7061/7062 or NVQ 1/2) or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of hands-on cooking experience in a busy kitchen.
• Food Hygiene and Health & Safety training will be provided if needed.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Basic Food Handling/Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience in large-scale cooking for schools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Cook Manager with day-to-day running and supervision of the school kitchen and catering operation.
• Prepare, cook, present and serve food to company standards, including breakfast, lunch, and hospitality services.
• Supervise catering staff and provide on-the-job training.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Assist with stock control, food ordering and reducing food waste.
• Report issues to the Cook Manager or line manager.
