Job summary

microTECH Global Limited seeks a Satellite Electrical Power Systems Engineer to lead end-to-end power architecture for satellite missions. You will own design from energy generation to distribution, ensuring reliable operation across mission life cycle.

Role requires 3+ years in spacecraft power, deep knowledge of solar arrays, batteries, power electronics, and hands-on cleanroom testing. Collaboration with subsystems and vendors is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in spacecraft power subsystem engineering with at least one smallsat mission delivered.
• Strong knowledge of solar array design, batteries and power electronics.
• Experience with power budget modelling and hardware test campaigns.
• Familiarity with space-qualified components and radiation/thermal design.
• Hands-on integration and testing in cleanroom environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to work in agile, cross-disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication to work with suppliers and mission partners.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain power subsystem requirements, architecture, and ICDs.
• Design and analyse solar array, battery, and power regulation/distribution systems.
• Conduct power budget analyses for all mission phases.
• Perform modelling, simulation, and worst-case analyses to verify robustness.
• Select and qualify components for space environments (radiation, thermal).
• Support manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing of the power subsystem.
• Develop and execute subsystem and system-level test plans (functional, thermal vacuum, vibration).
• Lead power subsystem reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR) and support readiness reviews.
• Interface with spacecraft subsystems and engage in system-level trade-studies.
• Support launch and early orbit operations, including on-orbit power monitoring.
