Job description

Overview

The VacancyGeocore part of the RSK Group has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Driller to join the team. Although based in Redcar, UK, other locations in the North of England will be considered as the work is site-based UK wide and will involve working away from home Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a Lead Driller primarily for rotary drilling. Geothermal drilling experience would be advantageous.
• Adhere to best working practices and industry standards; training and guidance will be provided.
• Follow working instructions as specified internally by engineers and drilling supervisors.
• Provide paperwork, namely drillers logs and equipment inspection sheets, on a daily to weekly basis.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of drilling equipment at job sites.
• Ensure drilling sites are clean and safe during and after operations.
• Assist in the collection, labeling and logging of soil and rock samples.
• Oversee maintenance, repairs and inventory of department plant, equipment and tools.
• Communicate effectively with internal parties to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform additional tasks as reasonably expected within your level of capability to meet the company\'s evolving needs.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving license.
• Current CSCS card and NVQ Level 2 in Land Drilling is essential.
• The post holder will be expected to attend and pass internal and industry-recognised external training courses.
• Maintenance of ground investigation plant, equipment and tools.
• Familiar with conventional coring systems.
• Competent at operating varying rig types (primarily Comacchio).
