Job summary

Filtronic in Cambridge seeks a Principal RF Engineer to lead RF/mmW design from concept to production. You will drive electrical performance, quality and manufacturability while providing technical leadership across design activities.

The role involves mentoring engineers, performing system analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust product designs in telecommunication and defence segments.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in RF, Microwave, Electronics or Communications Engineering.
• Proven experience in RF/mmWave circuit or system design.
• Experience using RF design tools such as Microwave Office, CST, EMPro or ADS.
• Knowledge of microwave circuit design, system line-up analysis, tolerance/yield analysis, and design for manufacture.
• Experience in design of transceivers, amplifiers, filters, modules or subsystems would be beneficial.
• Ability to lead technical activities and mentor other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of RF/mmW sub-circuits, sub-modules and systems.
• Take technical responsibility for RF/mmW specifications, design, simulation, realisation and verification.
• Provide guidance and support to other engineers within the team.
• Carry out system line-up analysis, tolerance analysis and DFx.
• Support component/IC/MMIC selection and liaise with suppliers.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, PCB layout, manufacturing and test teams.
