Job summary

Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to lead an Inpatient Rehabilitation team and deliver high-quality patient care. You will be fully GMC registered, on or within six months of Specialist Register, and will hold or move toward Approved Clinician status.

You will influence treatment decisions, supervise colleagues, and ensure adherence to MHA/MCA and safeguarding standards. Part-time options are welcome.

Qualifications

• MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
• Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
• On the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months of completing CCT in Adult psychiatry
• Approved Clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
• Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment
• MRCPsych (Desirable)

Responsibilities

• Clinical leader in the team with overall charge of patient care.
• Delegate to team members and support development of colleagues.
• Expert knowledge of psychotropic medications and monitoring/treatment of physical illness.
• Ensure knowledge and use of MHA, MCA, safeguarding procedures and Court of Protection.
