Job summary

An innovative music tech platform in London is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Engineer to lead the design of a collaborative music creation platform. This role involves building core multiplayer features, designing robust sync models, and working with a small, fast-paced team. A successful candidate will have over 7 years of experience in real-time systems and deep expertise in TypeScript, React, and Node.js. Competitive salary of £130k-£170k plus equity is offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building complex, user-facing systems, including real-time/multi-user features.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, React, Node, with expert state architecture (Zustand) and optimistic UI.
• Strong understanding of real-time transports (WebSockets, WebRTC) and consistency/conflict resolution (CRDT/OT).

Responsibilities

• Implement core multiplayer primitives like presence, selection, and edit/playback states.
• Write crisp React + TypeScript with Zustand, setting high bars for performance and feel.
• Design robust sync and conflict models for a real-time collaborative environment.
