Job Summary

Lead Radiographer – Bristol Hospital (Radiology). Fixed term, full time, 37.5 hours per week. Salary £45,500 to £47,500 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description

As the Clinical Lead in Radiology, you will be responsible for the operational management of a part of the diagnostic imaging department, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality imaging services. You will act as a speciality lead in general and theatre imaging, support the Radiology Manager, and oversee a busy department covering general radiographic procedures, theatre, ultrasound, CT and MRI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership within a highly specialised area.
  • Participate in departmental QA, audit and all aspects of mandatory training.
  • Scope and develop policies and procedures.
  • Deputise for and support the Radiology Manager.
  • Supervise and develop staff, including mentoring students and trainees.
  • Work in partnership with practitioners and other departments across the hospital.
  • Treat each patient as an individual, providing care with understanding and empathy.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Qualifications
  • BSc degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent).
  • Post‑graduate qualification.
  • Registered with HCPC.
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor training or qualification desirable.
  • Working knowledge of IRMER, IRR, and ability to undertake audits.
  • Previous post‑qualification experience.
