Job summary

Leica Biosystems in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead defined projects contributing to the development and lifecycle support of cancer diagnostic products. Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent with substantial relevant experience in a scientific field.
• Hands-on experience in immunohistochemistry, histopathology, chemistry or molecular biology.
• Experience in regulated environments for in vitro diagnostic or medical devices.
• Experience progressing scientific ideas from conception through feasibility and initiation.

Responsibilities

• Lead well-defined projects or work packages contributing to development and lifecycle support of cancer diagnostic products.
• Plan, execute, and interpret laboratory studies across histopathology, IHC, molecular biology, and related techniques.
• Provide technical guidance to scientists and mentor project team members.
• Ensure work complies with regulatory, quality, customer, time, and budget requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a regulated product development environment.
