Job summary

Cipher Search is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a major highways infrastructure programme in Bristol. You will lead commercial management, protect financial performance and maintain strong client and supply chain relationships.

Reporting into the Project Manager/Commercial Manager, you will oversee procurement, valuations, cost reports and change control, with a focus on commercial delivery and collaborative stakeholder engagement on a high-profile route.

Qualifications

Strong civil engineering / highways commercial background.
Excellent working knowledge of NEC contracts.
Confident negotiator, comfortable challenging and influencing stakeholders.
Track record in subcontract procurement and commercial reporting.
Collaborative, values-driven approach.

Responsibilities

Lead commercial management across highways works, safeguarding contractual and financial position.
Manage procurement, subcontract tendering, evaluation and appointment.
Prepare valuations, invoices, cost reports, forecasts and cash-flow.
Oversee change control - identifying, valuing and recovering variations/compensation events.
Administer subcontracts including payments, instructions, re-measurement and final accounts.
Monitor cost, risk and opportunity to drive commercial efficiency.
Mentor junior commercial staff.
