A prominent banking institution is looking for a Lead Quality Engineer in London. This role involves shaping technical solutions, leading engineering practices, and ensuring high-quality software delivery. Ideal candidates should have substantial experience in Quality Engineering and knowledge of testing methodologies and tools. The position offers a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility between home and office.

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our London Gresham Street office location

As Lead Quality Engineer, you'll shape technical solutions, lead engineering practices, and collaborate closely with product and engineering teams. You'll play a key role in ensuring high-quality software delivery aligned with our engineering transformation strategy.

Good Quality Engineering and Test Management experience across the entire test lifecycle.
A transformation mentality, leading and driving transformation opportunities to support agility, capability-building, and the wider Engineering Transformation Strategy.
An understanding of the importance of testing and the Quality Framework within LBG and the ability to educate other change teams.
Ability to lead your team to align with strategic tooling & approaches and strive for excellence through quality and innovation.
Ability to work pro-actively to embed QE standard methodologies on various technology stacks.
Experience in test automation, user acceptance testing, mocking and test data management
An understanding of wider testing approaches & tooling including security, performance, chaos & contract testing.
An understanding of systems design considerations such as security, cloud, event-driven systems, microservices, resilience, automation & SRE.
Shift left solutions and expanding the current capability are a must.
Desirable skills would be Cypress, Playwright, Karate, Jenkins , Github. Selenium, Applitools
At least one desktop/mobile cloud tool testing experience such as perfecto, BrowserStack or SauceLabs for compatibility testing
A deep understanding of Java / JavaScript / NodeJS / Postman / TDD / BDD Best Practices
Hands-on experience with Java / JavaScript test automation programming and capable of building test frameworks from scratch in an agile environment.
Strong experience in Appium, WebdriverIO , Cucumber and API automation solutions such as RestAssured / Karate / Postman.
