Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within the Asset & Wealth Management Data & Analytics Engineering team to architect and implement robust data and analytics solutions on our federated data platform. You will work with Quantitative Research teams to deliver solutions including mappings for financial instruments and sandbox environments for research and strategy testing.

• Experience with public cloud analytics technologies, such as Snowflake.
• Understanding of modern data architectures, including Data Mesh and Data Fabric.
• Advanced proficiency in programming languages, including Python.
• Lead developer experience with the ability to guide and manage others.
• Strong communication skills and confidence in stakeholder engagement.

• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues and improve operational stability
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials
• Drive communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote new and leading-edge technologies
• Design and implement performant automated data ingestion and transformation pipelines
• Build new distribution channels and deliver enhanced Data Products

As a Lead Software Engineer in the Asset & Wealth Management Data & Analytics Engineering team, you will architect and implement robust data and analytics solutions on our federated data platform. You will work closely with Quantitative Research teams to deliver solutions that meet evolving needs, including building and maintaining financial instrument mappings. You’ll design and develop sandbox environments for research and strategy testing, and help shape infrastructure supporting model training and inference. Your work will optimize our data platform for both research and production workloads.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Experience with public cloud analytics technologies, such as Snowflake
• Understanding of modern data architectures, including Data Mesh and Data Fabric
• Advanced proficiency in programming languages, including Python
• Lead developer experience with the ability to guide and manage others
• Strong communication skills and confidence in stakeholder engagement
• Proficiency in building and deploying performant software and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile)
• In-depth knowledge of financial services industry IT systems
• Practical cloud native experience

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Experience with Java, especially for analytics platforms and solutions
• Cloud-based data analytics platform experience in Snowflake, Databricks, or similar solutions
• AWS Certification
• Experience working with financial data, especially cross-reference processes and instrument master data
• Familiarity with vendor data from various financial data providers
• Knowledge of mapping and integrating multiple vendor and internal data sources
• Experience working closely with quantitative research teams
• Prior experience in financial data engineering, securities reference data, or instrument master systems
