Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in London to drive the design and delivery of real-time marking, pricing, and market data platforms for the Rates Nonlinear franchise. You will partner with front office traders and quantitative researchers to set technical direction across the EMEA region.

The role requires strong Python expertise, practical cloud-native experience, and a track record in delivering secure, scalable software within an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced knowledge of Python and at least one other programming language

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions with focus on real-time marking, pricing, and market data for Rates Nonlinear trading desk
• Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews code written by others
• Drives adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operations
• Applies SDLC tooling and AI-assisted development/automation capabilities to improve value
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation and improve stability of software apps
• Owns the technology agenda for the EMEA region with front office traders and researchers
• Leads cross-functional initiatives across Risk Tech and Market Data Tech platforms
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on architecture and applicability
• Builds strong relationships with front office and quant research stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions
• Contributes to a team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect
