Overview

Summary: We have a unique opportunity to join a talented multi-disciplined team. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has a passion for engineering and technology. You should have mechanical/hydraulic/electrical experience along with onsite industry exposure and experience of leading a small team. Experience with pumps and understand the fundamentals of pumping. You will be competent with the use of IT due to collating data which will be shared with the wider team. The role will require frequent travel on a weekly basis throughout the UK and, as training progresses, there will be a requirement for international travel working on specialist projects all over the world. This role would suit someone that currently works in the water industry and knows the basics of pumping systems; they should have a level 3 qualification or apprenticeship in either mechanical or electrical engineering and have the aptitude to learn and develop in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Flexibility and adaptability to the business needs are important in an ever-changing technical environment.

The role focuses on installing our specialist monitoring and testing equipment for various hydraulic systems including pump, fans, hydraulic networks and aeration networks. You will undertake specialist measurement campaigns on site, deploy our cutting-edge hardware and software technology into the water industry, and provide full application support to our partners and growing customer base.

Our core technology employs precision temperature, pressure and power measurement to determine the hydraulic performance of turbo-machines. Real-time data from assets is used to inform the client about asset efficiency and recommend operational changes to achieve maximum process efficiency. We develop electronic hardware including precision sensor technology and a range of software platforms, deployed on Cloud or on-premise platforms with integration to SCADA or other intelligent systems and remote technical support. We utilise cutting-edge wireless communication technology and battery-powered IIoT solutions, integrating with a cloud platform using 4G data services and client industrial SCADA systems in partnership with system integrators.

Responsibilities
  • Flexibility with working away from home due to site work in the UK and overseas
  • Installing specialist equipment on site; when not on site, maintenance and repair work carried out at our Stoke facility
  • Work autonomously from home when not on site, with the ability to follow health and safety protocols
  • Be self-motivated to work from home when not on site
  • Lead a small team of 2-3 people
  • Network with wider technical teams to satisfy cross-disciplinary projects
  • Be respectful, polite, and professional with customers, colleagues, and the community
  • Carry out site surveys to scope new work and assist with planning/RAMS/authorisation
  • Focus on achieving high standards of work across multiple bespoke projects in a dynamic, energetic environment
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • At least 3 years’ experience in hydraulic, mechanical, process or a similar engineering discipline (or equivalent learning experience)
  • Time-served apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
  • Level 3 BTEC in electrical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
  • Understanding of engineering disciplines and technologies relating to the water/pumping industry
  • Proven experience contributing to overall success with tangible output
  • IT skills in MS365, particularly Excel; full training provided
  • Hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation experience ideal but not essential; full training provided
  • Ability to learn new products and disciplines
  • Driving licence (essential)
