Job summary

UK Power Networks in Crawley, Sussex/Surrey, is seeking a Protection and Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning for the Capital Programme portfolio. You will manage a team, test and prove installations before service, and liaise with the Lead Engineer to deliver the APP and Connections programs.

You will ensure compliance with UKPN standards, support project delivery, and maintain high levels of safety and customer service while developing staff and commissioning plans.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering HNC/HND required.
• Experience with Primary Substation and Cable/OHL systems.
• Full AP status for two voltage levels; NEBOSH qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage commissioning from cold to energisation for multiple projects.
• Lead a commissioning team and advise on technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with UKPN policies, CDM and safety requirements.
• Maintain commissioning drawings, test forms and as-built records.
