Job description
About Us

At Dyson we believe everything could be better. Fuelled by a frustration with things that don’t work properly and a relentless obsession with making them work better, we’ve spent the last 25 years pioneering inventions and continually improving.

We’re growing fast. And our ambition is huge. But it’s not simply about more people and more profit. Dyson is all about better ideas and new technologies. It’s about inventing the future.

Our philosophy remains the same as it was 25 years ago when James Dyson invented the first cyclonic vacuum cleaner. We remain family‑owned. We don’t bow to outside shareholders or report to the stock exchange. Instead we plot our own path, unshackled from conventional thinking.

About The Role

The Project Manager, New Ventures, leads the robust planning and delivery of end‑to‑end projects within Dyson’s formulations business. From early concept through product development, packaging, and launch, this role ensures all projects are executed to cost, quality, spec, and time targets.

The Project Manager develops integrated schedules with cross‑team input, maintains governance and project discipline, proactively manages risks and escalations, and ensures professional stakeholder engagement and reporting. As an advocate for best project management practice and continuous improvement, this role is key in delivering new‑to‑market formulations efficiently and creatively.

You Will
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain detailed, integrated project plans and product timelines for all New Ventures formulations projects, ensuring robust cross‑functional input and seamless project progress.
  • Manage and track milestone deliverables and key events (builds, launches, reviews), ensuring timely preparation, closure, and documentation in accordance with Dyson business processes and data integrity standards.
  • Monitor and clearly report accurate project status, including schedule, critical path, risk/issues, opportunities, business case status, and supporting commentary for category escalations as required.
  • Act as primary liaison and driver for all cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure teams are engaged, aligned, and delivering on requirements, facilitating regular “drumbeat” meetings for alignment and action.
  • Manage project budgets in conjunction with the Project Leadership Team, maintaining robust and up‑to‑date business cases and budget tracking.
  • Proactively identify risks, manage issues and actions, surface opportunities, elevate challenges to leadership in a timely manner, and drive resolution at pace.
  • Coordinate resource allocation activities against project needs and ensure effective conflict resolution and appropriate escalation wherever needed.
  • Ensure all changes and significant project decisions are recorded and agreed with Category Leadership before re‑forecasting plans.
  • Capture lessons learned at key stages and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team, promoting best‑in‑class project management principles and practices at all times.
  • Inspire and facilitate team creativity and accountability, fostering a spirit of collaboration, innovation, and self‑starting focus.
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships across technical, commercial and leadership stakeholders, utilizing strong communication and analytical skills to drive for evidence‑based problem‑solving and successful delivery.
  • Serve as a change agent and innovation advocate, confidently navigating complex, fast‑paced environments and leading by example to motivate and guide teams to deliver outstanding results.
We're Looking For Someone That Has
  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven project management experience (typically 3+ years) in product, innovation, or formulation development, ideally in beauty, personal care, or FMCG sectors.
  • Demonstrated skill in integrated planning, multi‑functional team leadership, and end‑to‑end new product delivery under tight deadlines and shifting requirements.
  • Expertise in project status tracking and reporting, risk/issue management, conflict resolution, resource planning, and stakeholder management at all levels.
  • Strong commercial literacy, able to manage budgets and maintain business cases.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills; able to concisely convey complex issues and drive for actionable, evidence‑based outcomes.
  • Highly organized, energized, multi‑tasker with an agile and solution‑oriented mindset; self‑motivated and able to bring out the best in others.
  • Credible and confident working alongside technical and commercial teams; ready to challenge, elevate or advocate as needed.
  • Experience delivering innovation in dynamic, matrixed, or ambiguous environments highly valued.
