Job summary

Simply Jobsworth is seeking a Production Supervisor in Sherburn to lead the extrusion team and drive safety, quality and productivity. The role involves supporting the Production Manager, coordinating maintenance activities (TPM/PPM), and ensuring targets are met in a dynamic, rotating shift pattern.

You will be responsible for coaching staff, maintaining high standards of health and safety, and promoting continuous improvement across the site, including out-of-hours coverage.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Production Supervisor/Manufacturing Supervisor or similar role.
• Strong fault-finding, maintenance and problem-solving skills.
• Experience of continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of food-grade manufacturing environments.
• Proactive approach to health and safety, quality and operational performance.
• Ability to lead a team and make effective decisions independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and motivate the production team to achieve targets.
• Oversee extrusion lines, especially during nights and weekends.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety, quality, environmental compliance and operational discipline.
• Promote a right-first-time approach to production and ensure quality specs.
• Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Coordinate and respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance activities.
• Work with engineering, quality, planning and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Drive continuous improvement and best practice across the production team.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, risk assessments and relevant legislation.
