Job description

At Verto, we're actively democratizing global finance, empowering businesses in Emerging Markets with seamless payment and liquidity solutions that have already led to billions in annual processing. Recognised as 'Fintech Start-Up of the Year' and a Milken-Motsepe Prize winner, we offer you the unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing, award-winning innovator where your work directly drives financial inclusion and global economic growth. Be part of a dynamic, world-class team that values impact, fosters continuous development, and champions an inclusive culture where your contributions truly matter.

We are looking for a seasoned and inspiring Lead Product Manager to take the helm of our Core Product group. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will lead and mentor our Product Managers for Payments and Accounts, unifying the strategy for our entire client money journey. Your mission will be to create a single, cohesive, and world-class experience for how businesses hold, manage, move, and receive funds globally, ensuring that our two core product pillars work in perfect harmony.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Lead, Mentor, and Develop: Manage and grow a high-performing team of Product Managers, fostering their skills, setting clear goals, and empowering them to do their best work.

  • Own the Holistic Vision: Own and articulate the overarching product vision and strategy across both the Payments and Accounts domains, ensuring they combine to solve key customer problems.

  • Unify the Roadmaps: Guide your team to develop and execute aligned product roadmaps that deliver on the unified vision and meet broader company objectives.

  • Drive Execution Excellence: Champion product management best practices across your team, guiding them through the end-to-end product lifecycle from discovery to delivery and iteration.

  • Executive Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary product leader for the Core Product area, regularly communicating strategy, progress, and results to executive leadership.

  • Foster Cross-Functional Alignment: Drive collaboration and alignment with senior leaders across Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, and Go-to-Market to ensure successful product outcomes.

What You Need:
  • Extensive Product Leadership Experience: 8+ years of product management experience, with proven success in a leadership or management role where you have directly managed and mentored other Product Managers.

  • Deep FinTech Domain Expertise: A deep, holistic understanding of the B2B FinTech landscape, covering both cross-border payments (rails, FX) AND global account/wallet propositions (virtual IBANs, ledgers, collections).

  • Exceptional Strategic Thinking: A demonstrated ability to set a long‑term vision, translate it into a tangible strategy, and guide a team to execute against it.

  • Strong People Management Skills: A passion for developing talent, with a track record of coaching PMs to improve their craft and advance their careers.

  • Executive-Level Communication: The ability to articulate a complex strategy and influence senior stakeholders and executive teams effectively.

  • Decisive and Data-Informed: You are comfortable making difficult prioritisation decisions and trade‑offs, using data and customer insights to guide your logic.

  • Experience in Regulated Environments: You thrive in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment and are comfortable navigating the complexities of a regulated industry.

Life at Verto (Benefits):
  • Competitive salary and equity package.

  • Opportunity to build a groundbreaking API‑first product at a fast‑growing FinTech.

  • Collaborative and dynamic team environment.

  • Opportunities for professional development and growth.

  • The chance to directly drive financial inclusion and global economic growth.
