Job summary

Wise is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join the Platform Engineering and Security team. You will help shape how we manage compliance and risk through data, building robust pipelines and driving insights to support Wise's secure and compliant framework.

You will work with Python, DBT, Airflow and REST APIs to create scalable data solutions, collaborate across security domains, and define KPIs for continuous monitoring and improved efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Python with experience in automation and building data pipelines.
  • Strong expertise with DBT and Airflow for ETL processes.
  • Skilled in using REST APIs to develop and manage data integrations.
  • Proficient in SQL and familiar with data visualization tools like Looker, Superset, PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST) and CCM.

Responsibilities

  • Data Engineering → Build and Optimise Pipelines: Develop, optimise, and maintain data pipelines to support compliance and risk management.
  • Understanding Control Requirements & Continuous Monitoring: Translate compliance requirements into measurable metrics, SLAs, and dashboards.
  • Compliance and Risk → Define KPIs for monitoring IT systems and data accuracy.
  • Opportunity Identification → Insights: Use data to identify opportunities to improve compliance processes and efficiency.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our Platform Engineering and Security team. This role is pivotal in shaping how we manage compliance and risk through data. You will play a key role in building robust data pipelines to support continuous control monitoring while using insights to drive strategic opportunities within Wise's secure and compliant framework.

What will you be working on?

  • Data Engineering → Build and Optimise Pipelines: Develop, optimise, and maintain data pipelines using Python, REST APIs, DBT, and Airflow to ensure seamless data flow for compliance and risk management.
  • Understanding Control Requirements & Continuous Monitoring: Partner closely with control owners across security domains (such as Access Management, Vulnerability Management, Data Governance, etc.) to translate abstract compliance and testing requirements into concrete, measurable metrics, SLAs, and continuous monitoring dashboards.
  • Compliance and Risk → Define KPIs: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine key performance indicators necessary for monitoring compliance and risk for our IT systems, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
  • Opportunity Identification → Insights: Utilise data to identify opportunities for enhancing compliance processes, mitigating risks, and driving higher efficiency throughout the organisation.
Qualifications

Technical Expectations:

  • Proficient in Python, with experience in automation and building data pipelines.
  • Strong expertise in working with tools like DBT and Airflow for ETL processes.
  • Skilled in using REST APIs to develop and manage data integrations.
  • Proficient in SQL and familiar with data visualization tools such as Looker, Superset, PowerBI, or Tableau.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST), and the concept of continuous control monitoring (CCM).
Soft Skills
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive data-based decision-making.
  • Critical Thinking: Help stakeholders to define what to measure, ensuring the resulting data accurately reflects control operating effectiveness.
