Job summary

The Children's Society in Greater Manchester is seeking a Sessional Lead Missing from Care Practitioner. This sessional contract, funded until March 2027, pays £16.81 per hour and focuses on delivering the Missing From Home Return Interview Service to keep children safe and supported.

The role works within a multi-disciplinary team to reduce missing episodes and improve outcomes for vulnerable children. The Lead Practitioner will also support line management of student social workers and assist

Qualifications

• Experience of working directly with vulnerable children, particularly those who are missing or in care.
• Experience undertaking assessments of need and risk and planning interventions.
• Experience with multi-agency working and safeguarding processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Missing From Home Return Interview service as part of a multi-disciplinary approach.
• Provide support with safeguarding incidents in the line manager's absence.
• Lead and guide student social workers and contribute to team development.
