Job description
Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Practice Nurse to join our hardworking and friendly primary care team. In this senior role, you will provide clinical leadership, support and mentor the nursing team, and undertake one-to-one reviews to ensure ongoing professional development. You will oversee infection prevention and control, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and play a key role in shaping and developing our services, including long-term condition management and preventive care.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to the nursing team, including one-to-one reviews and mentoring.
  • Deliver high-quality patient care across general practice services, including chronic disease management, immunisations, wound care, and health promotion.
  • Oversee infection prevention and control within the practice.
  • Develop, implement, and review clinical protocols, pathways, and policies.
  • Lead or contribute to audits, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance.
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, healthcare assistants, and other practice staff to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centred care.
  • Support professional development and training of the nursing team.
