Glebe Road Surgery in Barnes, London, is seeking a Senior Practice Nurse to lead and support our friendly nursing team. You will undertake all aspects of general practice nursing, including baby immunisations, chronic disease management and cervical screening.

We are a busy GMS training practice committed to high-quality care and ISO 9001:2015. UK registration and primary care experience, plus EMIS Web knowledge, are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Practice Nurse/RGN with UK registration.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in primary care.
  • Working knowledge of EMIS Web and ICP/CQC compliance.
  • Line management or lead role experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on Infection Prevention Control and ensure CQC compliance.
  • Provide routine nursing care in line with clinical evidence and NICE.
  • Develop and evaluate care plans for chronic disease patients.
  • Record accurate clinical notes and adhere to scope of practice.
  • Support women’s health services including cervical screening and immunisations.
  • Chaperone duties and travel immunisations where needed.

Job summary

Glebe Road Surgery brings to you an exciting opportunity for a Senior Practice Nurse to join our very friendly nursing team to lead and support them in their roles. You will have experience as a Practice Nurse in primary care and will be expected to undertake all aspects of general practice nursing, including baby imms, chronic disease management and cervical screening.

Main duties of the job
  • To lead on Infection Prevention Control and work with the partners and practice manager to ensure CQC compliance at all times.
  • Provide routine nursing care to patients in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and NSF
  • Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for chronic disease patients that promote health and wellbeing
  • Understanding the importance of evidence-based practice
  • Understand the requirement for PGDs and associated policy
  • Ability to record accurate clinical notes
  • Ability to work within own scope of practice and understanding when to refer to GPs
  • Chaperone procedure
  • Womens health (cervical cytology, contraception, etc.)
  • Immunisations (routine, childhood and travel)
  • Chronic disease management in Asthma , COPD, Diabetes.
  • Spirometry

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualified Practice Nurse/ RGN
  • Atleast 2 years experience in Primary care
  • Previous line management experience or lead role experience highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of EMIS Web
  • Working knowledge of ICP and CQC compliance.
