Job summary

Dex’s partner company is building a secure, scalable AI-enabled platform in the cloud. You will architect and operate the Azure ecosystem, including AKS, Terraform, and Dockerised services, and guide the technical direction for a 150+ person organization selling to regulated institutions.

You’ll own CI/CD pipelines, observability, incident response, and SOC 2/ISO 27001 readiness, while controlling cloud costs and enabling engineers to ship rapidly without compromising enterprise controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in platform, infra or DevOps with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience designing Terraform modules and CI/CD pipelines.
• End-to-end ownership of observability and incident practices.
• Proficiency in cloud networking and production databases.
• Strong Python or Bash for automation.

Responsibilities

• Architect and operate a complex Azure footprint (AKS, Terraform, Dockerised services).
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for backend, frontend, and data.
• Set technical direction and guardrails for infrastructure, modules, and observability practices.
• Own end-to-end observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) and drive incident response.
• Prepare cloud estate for SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits and manage cloud cost at scale.

You’ll lead the platform underneath it all: architecting and operating their Azure footprint across AKS, Terraform-managed cloud resources, Dockerised services, and the CI/CD pipelines. This isn't just a hands-on role; you'll set the technical direction and guardrails for a 150+ person company selling into regulated institutions. Expect to own cloud cost, prepare for SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits, and enable product engineers to ship at pace without weakening enterprise-grade controls.

The work

• Architecting and operating a complex Azure footprint, including AKS, Terraform, and Dockerised services.
• Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions equivalent) that ship backend, frontend, and data, with a focus on developer experience.
• Setting technical direction and guardrails for infrastructure, including Terraform modules, pipeline patterns, and observability practices.
• Owning end-to-end observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, on-call) and driving incident response.
• Preparing the entire cloud estate for rigorous SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits, and managing cloud cost at scale.

What You Bring

• 7+ years in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps, including a period where you set technical direction.
• Experience designing Terraform modules and CI/CD pipelines that other engineers build on.
• End-to-end ownership of observability, including incident practice.
• Comfort with cloud networking (VPCs, private networking, DNS, load balancers, VPNs, firewalls) and provisioning production databases.
• Strong Python or Bash for automation.
