Job summary

Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby seeks a Lead Planner to manage schedules and Control Account Schedules for a UK defence submarine project. The role focuses on capturing work scope and leading scheduling governance within the monthly planning cycle.

You will act as SME for planning methods and tools, driving schedule quality and alignment with customer requirements. Security clearances apply and UK national status is required.

Qualifications

• PM/PP planning qualifications desirable.
• Experience building schedules in complex environments.
• Willingness to join APM as member.
• Strong scheduling software knowledge (Primavera P6) is preferred.

Job Title: Lead Planner - Submarines

Working Pattern Full-Time - Days

Location: Derby - Raynesway (5 days on site)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Planner to join Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby.

As a Lead Planner you will maintain schedule(s) for the assigned work scope in line with the Submarines monthly planning cycle, whilst being responsible for the creation and management of Control Account Schedules (CAS) that reflect the work required to deliver the customer or business requirements. You will be acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all planning & scheduling methodology and processes adopted within the assigned team

What you will be doing:

You will work with key stakeholders to capture the project work scope, in line with customer requirements. This could include the development of a Product Breakdown Structure (PBS), Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Statement of Work (SOW) and Basis of Estimate (BOE) you will also:
Provide planning process support / governance and guidance to the wider delivery team and those developing level 3 plans to support work packages.

Position Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is/has:

• APMG Project Planning and Controls (PPC), or the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) desirable
• Entry level qualification (HNC or Foundation Degree) desirable.
• Experience of developing schedules within a complex environment
• A willingness to become an associate or full member of the APM
• Strong knowledge and skills of scheduling software (preferably Primavera P6) and subsequent functionality.
