Job summary

Rullion is seeking a Lead Planner to join our client in Southwark, London. This permanent role focuses on planning, scheduling and project performance reporting for client projects, onsite 5 days a week.

You will produce resource-loaded programmes, monitor progress, manage changes and coordinate interfaces across design, procurement and construction to support successful delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of HNC in Construction related discipline or extensive civil engineering contracting experience.
  • Understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function.
  • Competent use of Primavera P6 software.
  • Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in tunnelling and ground engineering works is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements.
  • Prepare visual material in support of planned methods and undertake programme risk analysis.
  • Provide a link to communicate planning community information between all parties.
  • Define methods and establish competitive outputs in consultation with the team and supply chain as appropriate.
  • Cooperate with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.
  • Introduce change into a programme and monitor progress within the working programme.
  • Plan temporary works design activities with the Temporary Works Manager to ensure timely finish and approval.
  • Provide the project with a justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect costs.
  • Advise project team of required feedback reports and support.
  • Early programming to enable proper coordinated interface management.
  • Ensure evaluation of contract documents to build and maintain detailed programmes.
  • Produce external and internal programmes throughout the project duration.
  • Review construction progress with input from the construction team and produce progress reports.
  • Highlight areas of concern and review mitigation measures with manager and team.
  • Evaluate scope changes and interface with Commercial Team regarding cost and contractual implications.

Job Type: Permanent
Start date: Subject to clearance
Salary: £80,000 - 85,000 pa + Car Allowance + Benefits
Location: Southwark, London
Hours of work: 45 Hours Per Week - Onsite 5 days per week

The Role:

Provide support to the project management team through the provision of an efficient and effective planning, scheduling and project performance reporting function for client project.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with
    expectations and requirements.
  • Prepare visual material in support of planned methods and undertake programme risk analysis
  • Provide a link to communicate planning community information between all parties
  • Define methods and establish competitive outputs, in consultation with other team members,
    including the supply chain in appropriate circumstances
  • Cooperate with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works
  • Able to introduce change into a programme and monitor progress within the working programme
  • Planning of required temporary works design activities together with Temporary Works Manager to ensure design is finished and approved when construction need to start
  • Provide the project with a justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect cost items
  • Advise project team of required feedback reports and support
  • Early programming to enable proper coordinated interface management
  • Ensure evaluation of project contract documents in order to build and maintain detailed programmes specifying time and resource requirements
  • Production of external and internal programmes throughout the duration of client project
  • Review construction progress with input from the construction team, update programmes and
    produce reports as necessary
  • Highlight areas of concern with regard to construction progress and review mitigation measures with the Technical Manager and Construction Team.
  • Evaluate scope changes, additional work orders and other elements, including interface and
    coordination with Commercial Team with regards to cost and contractual implications
Experience/Qualifications:
  • All candidates ideally will hold a minimum of HNC in Construction related discipline or extensive experience in civil engineering contracting industry
  • A clear understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function
  • Competent use of industry P6 Primavera software
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Microsoft
    Project.
  • Experience in tunnelling and ground engineering works - Desirable
