Job summary

Burnside Resource Management in Aberdeen is seeking an experienced Lead Piping Engineer to drive the piping discipline through multi-discipline projects. You will lead preparation and review of piping engineering documentation, calculations, specifications and schedules, and supervise piping designers.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (chartered preferred) and extensive onshore/offshore piping experience in oil and gas, with strong knowledge of codes and standards

• Strong knowledge of piping & plant layout codes and standards.
• Experience with discipline project controls.
• Ability to operate in a multi-disciplinary project environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the piping discipline through multi-discipline projects.
• Prepare, interpret and review piping engineering documentation.
• Prepare and check calculations, specifications, and schedules.
• Supervise piping designers and allocate work.
• Ensure work complies with design codes, standards and procedures.
• Provide input to cost estimates and execution plans.
• Plan and maintain the discipline progress of the project.
• Liaise with other disciplines, departments, project personnel, vendors and clients.
• Participate in key project reviews such as HAZOP, model reviews and constructability reviews.
• Assist Principal Piping Engineers in other discipline activities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in onshore/offshore piping engineering in the oil and gas industry.
• Good knowledge of the relevant Piping & Plant Layout codes and standards.
• Knowledge of project controls within discipline.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary project environment.

Minimum attendance of 3 days per week in the Aberdeen office
