Job summary

MDA Ltd. in the UK is seeking a Payload Systems Engineer to lead design, integration and test of RF payloads and antennas for GEO and related environments.

You will collaborate with internal and external groups to produce robust trade analyses, considering ground infrastructure, payload options and technology trade-offs. You will guide the systems engineering team in requirements generation, system-level trades, and the development of operations concepts for RF payloads, with a focus on

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Maths or Physics.
• 10+ years in communications system engineering and/or engineering management.
• Experience developing technologies for space environments.
• Experience with space industry standards (ECSS).
• Experience leading an engineering team and RF payload designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead an engineering project team with scope, schedule, cost and risk management.
• Forecast technical performance against baselines for timely decisions.
• Ensure delivery within budget and technical standards.
• Guide systems engineering to define requirements and interfaces.
• Develop system concepts for RF payloads and antennas; perform trade studies.
