Job summary

InterMoor Limited, part of Acteon’s Moorings and Anchors business, is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead its Aberdeen-based engineering team on offshore mooring projects. You will guide design and analysis, mentor engineers, and ensure delivery to clients and contracts with a strong focus on safety and cost efficiency.

The role requires a 2:1 Engineering degree, 10+ years in offshore energy, and advanced proficiency in mooring and marine dynamics software.

Qualifications

Degree (2.1) in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Structural, Civil, Subsea or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in the offshore energy industry.
Design and operation of offshore mooring systems.
Project management experience including tendering, scheduling & creating deliverables.
Experience in leading a team and guiding the team members.
Good commercial awareness.
Advanced user of engineering software with mooring analysis tools and marine dynamics software.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the engineering team in delivering projects to schedule and budget.
Serve as primary interface with clients, vendors and third‑party contractors.
Ensure compliance with company policies, standards and industry codes.
Plan and deliver engineering activities and develop technical capabilities.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in policies and procedures.
Support business development and pursuit of new opportunities.
