Job summary

Gousto is seeking a Lead Multi-Skilled Engineer to own shift-based engineering operations on our production lines. You will balance hands-on breakdown support with technical leadership, driving planned maintenance and mentoring a team of engineers.

You will use CMMS to plan maintenance, enforce safety with PTW/LOTO, collaborate with live operations, conduct RCA and FMEA for continuous improvement, and mentor Engineering Support Operatives to grow future talent.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience leading, developing, and inspiring engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrable hands-on experience with CMMS platforms and digital parts-ordering workflows.
• Analytical problem solving with data to diagnose issues, trace root causes, and optimize asset performance.
• Excellent communication with strong stakeholder management to bridge engineering and daily factory ops.
• High digital literacy with experience using Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Lead the Engineering team on shift, manage training, time-off, PDPs, and participate in bi-annual performance reviews.
• Maintenance & CMMS Management: Plan, track, and manage all preventative maintenance activities and stock using CMMS, ensuring availability.
• Safety & Compliance: Conduct factory audits and enforce PTW and LOTO processes to maintain site safety standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with live Operational teams to troubleshoot issues and represent Engineering in daily huddles.
• Continuous Improvement (CI): Use RCA and FMEA to diagnose and eliminate repeat faults and share findings across the network.
• Supply Chain & Mentorship: Liaise with suppliers for parts and mentor Engineering Support Operatives on-site.

Job Description

As our Lead Multi‑Skilled Engineer, your engineering expertise will be the backbone of our daily production process. You will take ownership of shift-based engineering operations, balancing hands‑on breakdown support with technical leadership.

By driving planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and guiding a talented team of engineers, you will ensure our production lines maintain the highest levels of productivity, safety, and reliability.

What you’ll do:

• Team Leadership: Lead the Engineering team on shift. You will oversee their training programs, manage time-off schedules, support Personal Development Plans (PDPs), and actively contribute to bi-annual performance reviews
• Maintenance & CMMS Management: Utilize our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan, track, and manage all preventative maintenance activities and stock control, ensuring maximum system availability
• Safety & Compliance: Champion site safety standards by completing regular factory audits and strictly managing contractor control using Permit to Work (PTW) and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) processes
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with live Operational teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues on the floor. You will also proudly represent the Engineering function during daily site team huddles
• Continuous Improvement (CI): Utilize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and FMEA methodologies to diagnose, isolate, and completely eliminate repeatable faults, sharing your findings openly across our wider engineering network
• Supply Chain & Mentorship: Liaise directly with external suppliers to procure components and ensure correct technical specifications. On-site, you will mentor and develop our Engineering Support Operatives to build future talent

What you’ll bring:

• Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading, developing, and inspiring engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
• Systems Fluency: Demonstrable hands‑on experience working with CMMS platforms and digital parts-ordering workflows
• Analytical Problem Solving: A logical approach to data analysis, allowing you to diagnose engineering issues, trace root causes, and optimize asset performance
• Excellent Communication: Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical engineering and daily factory operations
• Technical Rigor: Incredible attention to detail, a strong composure when working toward tight deadlines, and high digital literacy (particularly across Google Suite)
