Job summary

Arrows is seeking a senior engineer to own the engineering function from day one, deploying computer vision and generative AI at the edge. You’ll work directly with the founders, with equity on offer, and help shape the technical culture as the team scales.

The role is based in Camden, with 4 days on-site, offering founder access and a path to build the engineering function from the ground up. You’ll be empowered to lead technical direction early on.

Qualifications

• Senior engineer with edge deployment experience and CV/LLM depth.
• Proficient in Python; comfortable with C++ for critical work.
• Mentoring or team-building experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Deploy CV and generative AI models to the edge with Jetson hardware.
• Port models from prototype to production on constrained hardware.
• Work across GCP stack and help shift toward self-hosted open-source models.

Job description

We are partnering with a pre-seed AI startup building at the frontier of edge deployment, bringing computer vision and generative AI off the cloud and onto physical hardware, in real-world environments where latency, connectivity and reliability actually matter.

You'll work directly with the founders to build the core technical function, and once you're in, we build the team around you. This is as close to a technical co-founder seat as it gets without the title.

What you'll be doing:

Deploying computer vision and generative AI models to the edge, working hands-on with NVIDIA Jetson hardware to get models running fast, reliably and efficiently outside the datacentre.

Owning cloud-to-edge model porting using the ONNX framework, taking models from prototype to production-ready on constrained hardware.

Working across Google Cloud Platform stack, including Gemini and Google's agent platform, while helping lead our shift toward tuning and self-hosting open-source models as we scale beyond off-the-shelf APIs.

Shaping technical direction from day one, and mentoring the engineers who join under you as the team grows.

What we're looking for:

A senior engineer, this isn't a graduate role. You've got real edge deployment experience and genuine depth in computer vision and LLM/generative AI, not just API integration. You're comfortable in Python day to day, with enough C++ to hold your own when it counts. Mentoring or team-building experience is a strong plus, since you'll be setting the technical culture here, not just following one.
