Job summary

Pertemps Network Group in Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to lead field-based installation, maintenance and repair work on wastewater facilities. You will head a two-person team, manage jobs from site survey to completion, and work with skilled engineers on industrial plant, pumps, pipework and process equipment.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar.
• Strong hands-on mechanical engineering background.
• Experience with industrial plant, pumps, pipework or process equipment.
• Confident fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with lifting equipment and cranage operations.
• Willingness to travel and work away when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a two-person field mechanical team on customer sites.
• Install, maintain, repair and refurbish mechanical plant and equipment.
• Work on pumps, pipework and wastewater equipment.
• Manage jobs from site assessment to completion.
• Ensure safety, quality and customer standards are met.
• Coordinate lifting and cranage activities as needed.
