Partner with the best

The Lead Engineer - Mechanical Aftermarket provides support to Aftermarket internal and external Customers for the variety of Baker Hughes Brush PowerGen machines to ensure continued reliable operation.

As a Lead Engineer - Mechanical Aftermarket, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing bespoke solutions to suit specific customer requirements, installations and issues in service
  • Managing site related problems in turbo-generators and motors
  • Supporting development of Engineers
  • Providing technical support to Field Service and Service 24 rep’s
  • Identifying practical solutions for field maintenance issues which may not match the reality of customer expectations
  • Analysing service data relating to Vibration, Noise, Temperature and other paramaters associated with machine operation and advising
  • Reviewing material condition to advise on re-use / replacement / refurbishement options
  • Providing support to Tendering, Sales, Spares and the wider Baker Hughes business

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or Related Field
  • Have a background knowledge of the principles of power, vibration, noise and rotating masses
  • Have prior experience in a field maintenance role – eg a Field Service Engineer or similar
  • Have relevant experience in FEA, lateral dynamics, and tribology
  • Be able to handle the pressure of delivering reports and presentations, often at short notice to suit on-site urgent maintenance requirements
  • Be able to work independently and sometimes with minimal information supplied by the customer
