Job summary

CBG Consultants Ltd seeks an experienced Principal Lighting Designer to lead lighting projects across Oxford, London, and Cambridge. You will guide a strong team, manage resources efficiently, and ensure timely delivery on multiple schemes for diverse sectors, including heritage buildings.

You will engage with clients, architects, engineers and contractors in the UK (and occasionally overseas), bringing a hands-on, technically proficient approach and a passion for high-quality lighting design

Qualifications

• Ten years of professional lighting design experience.
• Knowledge of historic buildings and related practices.
• Delivery of mixed-scale projects semi-autonomously with limited supervision.
• Up-to-date knowledge of SLL Guidelines and lighting standards.
• Collaborative approach with clients, architects, engineers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead team resources and commercial reviews.
• Lead project surveys and establish clear client briefs.
• Produce feasibility studies and concept design reports.
• Produce project design documentation and technical specifications.
• Carry out on-site inspections and support contract administration.
• Witness and oversee commissioning of completed schemes.
