Job summary

Recruit Build Limited, based in Leeds, is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to lead the creation of a new in-house landscape architecture function. The role focuses on guiding landscape design across a substantial development pipeline and collaborating with in-house teams to shape projects from concept through to planning and delivery.

You will lead design initiatives, mentor junior staff and help build a high-performance landscape team within a fast-paced commercial environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering landscape design across development projects.
• Experience taking schemes from concept through planning to development.
• Strong design, presentation and communication skills.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and workloads.
• Experience mentoring or leading junior team members.
• Commercial and practical approach to landscape design.
• Experience in care, retirement living or related developments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead landscape design across new development projects.
• Collaborate early with in-house land and architectural teams.
• Develop landscape strategies and design solutions for sites.
• Prepare landscape proposals to support planning applications.
• Coordinate with in-house and external consultants as needed.
• Ensure landscape design enhances setting and usability of each development.
• Build and develop the in-house Landscape Architecture function.
• Mentor and manage junior team members as the department grows.
