Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Bournemouth seeks a Lead Software Engineer-Java/Spring Boot to join the Post-Trade Technology team. You will be a core technical contributor delivering trusted, scalable financial tech products in an agile environment.

You will lead design and development of secure production code, drive AI-assisted engineering practices, and collaborate across business functions to ensure robust architecture and resilient operations.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming languages, including Java.
• Experience building and maintaining microservices with Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB.
• Experience leading use of AI-assisted software development tools with validating outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, security and resiliency.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine approaches.
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Drives adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools including AI-assisted development to improve automation value.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation to improve stability of applications and systems.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to probe architecture and applicability.
