Job summary

Barclays in Glasgow is seeking a Lead Java Developer for the Investments Transformation Program to modernize front-office technology. You will design and build services connecting our complex estate to a market-leading financial advisory platform using scalable, cloud-native architectures.

You will lead development with Java 21–25, Spring Boot 4.x, microservices, and API design, while improving resilience, observability and delivery capability.

Qualifications

• Extensive Java 21–25 experience for enterprise applications.
• Expertise in Spring Boot 4.x, REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of API design, data transformation and message-based architectures.
• Secure coding and testing practices are expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver scalable, high-performance software using approved frameworks.
