Job summary

A leading ink manufacturer is seeking a dedicated individual to ensure ink production meets customer needs. Responsibilities include managing stock, manufacturing ink on-site, and providing consistent reports on usage. The ideal candidate will have a background in ink manufacturing or a related field, must be fluent in English, and possess basic qualifications in Maths and English. Qualifications

  • Desirable to have worked in the ink manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in a laboratory, chemical, or pharmaceutical environment preferred.
  • Must live within 45 minutes of the customer site due to call-out requirement.
  • Availability for 1 in 3 weeks on 24/7 standby call-out.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure stock of inks and bases meets customer production needs.
  • Manufacture ink on-site and produce reports on ink consumption.
  • Provide 24-hour cover to the customer's plant on a rota basis.
  • Perform on-site color matching and maintain batch records.

Skills

Ability to identify and differentiate colors

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that the stock of inks and bases is consistent with the needs of the customer’s production schedule.
  • Manufacturing ink on site.
  • Producing reports to the customer with respect to ink consumption.
  • Providing 24‑hour cover to the customer’s plant on a rota basis.
  • Providing on‑site colour matching.
  • Monitoring ink usage and ensuring that ink formulations are the best that can be achieved.
  • Attending the customer’s daily meetings if required.
  • Reporting any deficiencies in the technical performance of ink.
  • Controlling all aspects of stock and placing orders with the mother plant.
  • Checking incoming goods and entering data into the system.
  • Maintaining batch records (kept for 18 months).
  • Adhering to the customer’s on‑site H&S standards.
  • Previous experience as a Team Leader.
  • Travel may be required to other plants.
The Candidate
  • Desirable to have worked in the ink manufacturing industry.
  • Desirable to have worked in a laboratory, chemical or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Must be able to speak and write English fluently.
  • Basic qualification in Maths and English is required.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of 5S and able to work cleanly.
  • You must be able to identify, distinguish and differentiate between different coloured inks.
  • Must live within 45 minutes of the customer site due to call‑out requirement.
  • Must be able to work 1 in 3 weeks on 24/7 standby call‑out.
