Job summary

Skycare in Darenth, Dartford is seeking a Head Housekeeper to lead a housekeeping team and own the department, ensuring clean, safe, and welcoming environments for residents, visitors, and staff.

The role requires hands-on leadership, a strong track record in housekeeping, and a commitment to high standards and infection control. 40 hours per week, £13.00 per hour, full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience in care, healthcare, hotel, or hospitality for at least one year.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic.
• Good communication and people management skills.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the housekeeping team to deliver outstanding standards of cleanliness.
• Ensure residents' bedrooms, communal areas, dining rooms, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
• Manage housekeeping rotas and daily task allocation.
• Conduct quality checks and audits.
• Monitor stock levels and order cleaning supplies.
• Support staff training and development.
• Ensure infection control, COSHH, and health & safety compliance.
