Qualifikationen

• 1st or 2:1 degree in a relevant technical subject.
• Strong A Level maths and sciences.
• Experience designing VHF/UHF communications, navigation and surveillance systems.
• Commercial acumen and budget awareness.
• Extensive knowledge of own discipline plus adjacent disciplines with experience.
• Proven experience in an engineering design position, including turnkey systems with budget responsibility.
• Self-motivated, positive and flexible.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.
• Effective communication to a range of stakeholders.
• Plan ahead and anticipate problems to achieve long-term objectives.
• Solve complex problems and adapt existing solutions.

Aufgaben

• Design and develop ground-to-air communications systems, providing technical leadership to a bid or programme team.
• Carry out system design and required documentation under supervision.
• For proposals: prepare technical descriptions, third party equipment definitions, statements of compliance, diagrams, calculations, non-standards and configurations.
• For contracts: perform technical contract review, clarify requirements, review drawings, generate specifications and interfaces, and specify new products.
• Review and authorise system assembly documentation; assess System Test Reports and initiate corrective action as needed.
• Maintain supplier and customer relationships as the technical prime contact; provide detailed technical advice to staff.
