Atos seeks an experienced Designer / Lead Developer to join our Public Sector team. The role focuses on developing and supporting Ophthalmic systems, requiring independent work, leadership of small teams, and deep domain knowledge.

The ideal candidate will guide developers and testers, maintain high code quality, and support CI/CD processes. Long-term engagement with the Ophthalmic domain is expected.

Qualificações

• Expert-level Java proficiency required.
• Strong leadership to guide small developer/tester teams.
• Experience with healthcare/public sector systems is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Act as Lead Developer and technical designer, contributing to architecture and hands-on implementation.
• Lead and coordinate a small team of developers and testers, ensuring quality delivery.
• Work independently to analyse, design, develop, and enhance Ophthalmic system components.
• Build and maintain long-term domain knowledge of Ophthalmic workflows and system integrations.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to refine requirements.

Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced Designer / Lead Developer to join our Public Sector team.


• This is a long-term role focused on developing and supporting Ophthalmic systems, requiring someone who can work independently, lead small development teams, and build deep domain and system knowledge.


• The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on technical expertise, the ability to guide and mentor developers and testers, and a commitment to understanding complex healthcare systems vital to public sector operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as Lead Developer and technical designer, contributing to architecture, solution design, and hands‑on implementation.


• Lead and coordinate a small team of developers and testers, ensuring quality delivery and adherence to best practices.


• Work independently to analyse, design, develop, and enhance Ophthalmic system components.


• Build and maintain long‑term domain knowledge of Ophthalmic workflows, business rules, and system integrations.


• Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to refine requirements and drive technical decisions.


• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance through reviews, refactoring, and standards enforcement.


• Support CI/CD processes using tools such as Jenkins and Git.


• Provide technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support where required.

• Experience working in healthcare, public sector, or regulated environments (advantageous but not essential).
