Job description

We're hiring a hands-on Lead Engineer to design, build, and ship product features across our Go microservices and modern React front-end.

You'll work directly with our engineering leadership, Head of Product, and designer, taking end-to-end ownership of complex problems while pushing the boundaries of how engineers leverage AI both in product and in their daily workflow.

This is a building-first role. We expect you to be delivering significant cross-stack features independently within your first two months.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Design and ship new features across our Go microservices and React (Remix) front-end
  • Own complex problems end-to-end — from database design to user experience
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership, PM, and designer to deliver high-impact product improvements
  • Build internal tooling to accelerate the entire team
Infrastructure & Developer Experience (Secondary)
  • Maintain and improve our Kubernetes (GKE) infrastructure
  • Contribute to CI/CD, observability, and developer workflows
  • Help optimize our AI-assisted development tooling and practices
Must-Haves
  • Active AI tool usage — you're already coding with AI assistants daily (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.)
  • 7+ years senior engineering experience with strong full-stack product development
  • Formal or informal experience providing technical leadership
  • Systems thinking and ability to navigate complex technical systems
  • Proven track record of shipping products
  • Go familiarity or strong experience with Java, Scala, C#, Rust, Python or TypeScript
  • Modern React (Remix/react-router or similar frameworks)
  • Some DevOps experience with production systems and deployment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote, async-friendly setup
  • Self-driven and able to work autonomously
Bonus
  • Significant DevOps/Cloud experience (Google Cloud, Kubernetes, microservices)
  • GraphQL API design in microservice environments
  • Event-driven architectures (Kafka)
  • Distributed database experience (Cassandra, ScyllaDB)
  • TailwindCSS utility patterns
What We Offer
  • £100k-£120k base + meaningful equity
  • London-based, hybrid
  • Direct influence at critical inflection point
  • Work with experienced founders (CEO: 6x founder, ex-CPTO SuperAwesome acquired by Epic Games)
  • Proven product-market fit, blue-chip clients
  • Profitable, venture-backed, choosing our own path
