Job summary

RGB Network in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. You will own the technical design for flood risk, drainage and sustainable infrastructure across diverse projects in Cambridge.

Lead the delivery of drainage and flood risk schemes, prepare assessments, and produce detailed hydraulic models while mentoring junior engineers and managing your workload. Chartered status is advantageous and UK planning knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in drainage design and flood risk.
• Experience producing Drainage Strategies and/or Flood Risk Assessments.
• Knowledge of SuDS and sustainable drainage principles.
• Experience with drainage/hydraulic modelling software.
• Good understanding of UK planning and drainage requirements.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage projects and work independently.
• Chartered or working towards ICE/CIWEM/CEng status would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of flood risk and drainage projects.
• Prepare and review Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.
• Undertake detailed surface water and foul drainage design.
• Design and assess SuDS, attenuation and flood mitigation solutions.
• Produce hydraulic calculations and drainage models.
• Support planning applications and liaise with LLFAs and Environment Agency.
• Develop infrastructure and external works designs.
• Collaborate with structural engineers, transport planners and developers.
• Provide mentoring to junior engineers and manage workloads.
