Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking a Lead Firmware Engineer for a hybrid role in Bedford. You will head the embedded side of an R&D team, guiding firmware development from concept to production while staying hands-on.

The role requires several years in software development, strong Agile Scrum discipline and proven people management, with a background in music industry relevance. You will collaborate with OEM partners on innovative audio products.

Qualifications

• Several years' experience in a commercial software development environment.
• Experience with Agile Scrum and sprint planning methodologies.
• Proven people management experience, including line management responsibilities.
• Background in music & knowledge of the music industry.

My client is a fast-growing player in their niche, challenging the audio industry with disruptive & innovative technologies from their advanced R&D team.

They are looking for a Firmware Team Leader to head up the embedded side of their R&D team, and make their mark on the industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the Firmware Team, ensuring high levels of performance, motivation and engagement.


• Drive the ideation, specification and research of innovative software and digital products.


• Manage software development projects, including liaison with OEM partners.


• Ensure delivery of software and firmware from concept through to production, including testing and validation.


• Contribute to hands‑on software development

Requirements
